About the Outer Banks Owners Alliance |
The OBXOA (Alliance) is dedicated to working towards equal rights for all property owners of the collective counties within the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We are a non-profit, non-partisan organization that supports all OBX homeowners. The Alliance provides forums for property owners to collaborate and opportunities to build relationships in the communities in which we own. The Alliance consists of a Board of Directors, Committees and Members. Our Board and Committees are comprised of members that have volunteered their time to serve the membership. |
Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors consist of volunteers elected by members within the Alliance. The Board looks forward to serving and upholding the highest of standards and welcomes suggestions for the betterment of the Alliance.
President: Susan Rice -Sue believes that when the bridge was closed to NRPO's it woke up a sleeping giant. Owning a second home on the Outer Banks has lots of rewards and joys but it also takes lot of work, money and angst. Sue felt that the commitment we make to the Outer Banks was taken lightly by those that made the policies and we are hoping to change that in a positive manner. Sue is from VA and owns in South Nags Head. Sue has an Outsourced Accounting Firm to support her beach real estate habit.
Vice President: Michele Hintz -
Secretary & Treasurer: Jeff Kaplan - Jeff is a strong proponent of owner rights and equality regardless of how homes are used. While primary residents need to be protected this should not result in discrimination against second home owners. Further, legal partners and spouses need to share the same rights as owners regardless of the tax records. Jeff owns properties in DC, Corolla, and Southern Shores. He loves nature and those awesome OBX water views!
